Jeanne-Marie Dickens, founder of the Charles Dickens Heritage Foundation, accepting the
Life Goes On! Award in Vienna, Austria in recognition of her as a key figure and role model in
society through her social sensitivity, empathy, positive thinking and loving actions.
Jeanne-Marie’s photograph is superimposed on the famous painting Dickens’s Dream, also
known as ‘A Souvenir of Dickens‘, an oil painting by Victorian artist, etcher and illustrator,
Robert William Buss (1804-1875) featuring Dickens in his Gad’s Hill Place study, conjuring up
his characters while he sleeps.
